Central District Council Arrested for DUI in Salem

According to Salem, NH Police records, our newly elected Central District city councilor, Yanilda Santos, was arrested late Wednesday evening following a single-vehicle accident in Salem.
Police were dispatched at approximately 7:44 p.m. to the area of Shannon Road and Lansing Drive after receiving a report of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway and into a snowbank. The reporting party indicated the vehicle’s operator was believed to be intoxicated.
Officers took one individual into custody at the scene. Police logs indicate the individual was later bailed on personal recognizance and released to a sober party.
The arrest record lists the suspect as a 49-year-old Methuen resident and identifies the charge as operating under the influence and subsequently charged with a DUI. Two arrests were recorded in connection with the incident.
The case has been referred for further processing, and the matter remains pending in court.
