From Night Out to Ribbon Cutting: Methuen Youth Center Marks a New Chapter

The Methuen Youth & Community Center has a busy stretch ahead, with two free events that put local young people front and center.
First up is National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the center, 10 Ditson Place.
Billed as a night built for teens, the event mixes a little bit of everything under the banner "Play. Create. Eat. Connect." Attendees can compete in a pickleball tournament or a knockout basketball tournament, get creative at a painting station, and refuel with free pizza, snacks, and drinks. In keeping with the National Night Out tradition, teens will also have the chance to meet local police officers and firefighters in a relaxed, community setting. Organizers encourage teens to bring their friends and best of all admission is free.
Looking ahead to the fall, the center will mark a major milestone with its Official Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, also at 10 Ditson Place.
Under the theme "A New Chapter Begins," the morning will feature the ribbon cutting itself, youth-led tours of the facility, special guests, and light refreshments. The center describes itself as a space where young people can connect, create, learn, and lead — and this event invites the whole community to celebrate that mission.
